Toffee and Thistle

February 3rd, 2012

This is one of my favourite paintings. I just love these two Bengals. They are so gorgeous and the position they’re curled up really makes me smile. It was such a joy to paint! I just wish I could have kept it.

Toffee and Thistle - two Bengal cats

14×11 acrylic on board
SOLD

This is a 14×11 inch acrylic painting on board. The background is made up of several layers of paint, the base colour was a warm pink with cooler lilacs over the top. As a result the background changes colour as the lighting changes, going from warm pinks to cool lilacs. Looks amazing but is very hard to photograph!

Here are a couple of close ups of the painting.

Relaxing on a pink blanket with his head on a paw. The picture of pug relaxation!

Dali

April 4th, 2011

This is Dali and pug dog. I liked the expression on his face as he lays in his basket, keeping an eye out for extra treats! And what huge eyes he has!

Dali - pug dog

This is a 10×8 acrylic painting on board. He is sold.

I painted Dali on a rough surface made with Golden’s mineral fibre paste on board. It’s the first time I tried a painting on this surface and it was really interesting. It’s similar to paper, absorbent and textured. You can see it in the close up detail.

Siamese Print Framed

January 27th, 2011

This is Sugar Plum Fairies framed. I love the way it looks in the silver frame. It would be a beautiful valentines day gift, especially the way the cats make a heart shape with their bodies. Siamese Framed Print
SOLD

It’s a 12×12 print in a lovely 16×16 inch silver swept frame and a double mount.

Mitzy and Smudge

December 17th, 2010

One of the Christmas commissions, this is Mitzy and Smudge relaxing on pink and burgundy cushions. Lots of fabulous colour in the painting, the delicious pinks and reds in the background and blues, greens and reds in their fur too.

Mitzy and Smudge

It was hard to get a good photo of this painting, it’s so dark outside and of course the flash bounces off the paint!

This is a 16×12 inch acrylic painting on paper.

A New Maine Coon Christmas Card

maine coon christmas card

This is Edina playing in the wrapping paper. A silver Maine Coon cat in pretty pink wrapping, luscious! She’s a beautiful girl. I’ll make this into a new Christmas card.

In The Pink

April 14th, 2010

Here is my new Siamese cat painting, In The Pink.  It’s taken me a while to paint it. I loved the pose, Kimi stretching on the fence. He looks fabulous and his people kindly gave me permission to use him as a model. He makes a wonderful model too!

But it took me quite a while to get the backdrop right.

There are lots of different pinks, purples and reds in that tree!

I’ve even managed a tiny human figure in the garden, reading under a tree. That’s a first for me.

I hope to exhibit it in the Society Of Feline Artists show in London in September. He is a 20×16 inch oil painting on canvas board.
