Blue Eyed Girl Sunny WindowJuly 18th, 2011 What could be nicer than sitting in a sunny window enjoying the heat of the sun? This is Kali, a beautiful Siamese cat, looking inscrutable, basking in the warmth of the window.
This is a 6×6 inch oil on board. The HammockMay 25th, 2011 What could be nicer than lying in an hammock on top of a radiator? If you’re a cat that’s just about perfect. Heat and comfort, a cats favourite things! All he has to do is defend it from interested parties!
This Siamese cat is Sounion and he’s king of the radiator. This painting is a 10×8 oil on board. Doesn’t he have beautiful eyes? This painting is going to the Untitled Artists Show at the beginning of June in Chelsea Town Hall. If you want to come along email me and I’ll send you tickets. TiguaMarch 31st, 2011
Tigua and his friend the duck. Hot summer days are meant for chilling out with friends, even if they are garden ornaments. :-) This is a 16×12 acrylic on canvas and it’s sold. Cyber and SounionFebruary 2nd, 2011 These two beautiful Siamese cats belong to Gill Barnes. I painted them sleeping together on silk cushions. The photos suffer a little bit from using flash, but it’s been so dark recently that its impossible to get good photos without it. But hopefully you’ll be able to see how beautiful these two boys are.
Here are close up details of the painting.
This is a 16×12 inch acrylic painting on canvas. Siamese Print FramedJanuary 27th, 2011 This is Sugar Plum Fairies framed. I love the way it looks in the silver frame. It would be a beautiful valentines day gift, especially the way the cats make a heart shape with their bodies. It’s a 12×12 print in a lovely 16×16 inch silver swept frame and a double mount. Lili Mei – A Beautiful Siamese CatDecember 22nd, 2010 This lovely lady is Lili Mei. And yes, she really was sitting in a plate. She is quite a character and we included the bowl of nectarines in the painting because she loved nectarines.
This was a wonderful painting to do. I loved the colours in her coat, the tortie markings in her points and the warm creaminess of her fur. I wanted to capture the warm sun coming in through the window. With soft yellows, warm greens and lilacs, her coat really came to life.
I also had fun with the flowers, using lots of thick, juicy paint to create the flower forms.
This is a 20×16 inch acrylic painting. Battersea Dogs Home 150th AnniversaryNovember 18th, 2010 This is one of two pieces I’ve donated to The Battersea Dog and Cats Home to help raise funds. It’s their 150th anniversary this year and there’s a ball on the 25th of November. I hope Thrill Of The Chase will raise a bit of cash for them. Especially as the home has so many Staffordshire Bull Terriers needing a good home! I thought this 20×16 inch painting of a staffy chasing seagulls on the beach would be the right painting to donate.
This is one of the largest prints I’ve done. Its a 20×16 inch print of In The Pink in a 24×30 inch frame. This is the second piece I’ve donated to Battersea for their fund raising.
It was quite an adventure taking them over there in the high winds we had. For a couple of sticky moments I thought I might get blown across London, arriving by air instead of road! :-) Tom and CherryOctober 6th, 2010 This is Tom and his young friend Cherry. Two beautiful Siamese cats.
This is a recent commission, painted in acrylic on paper. 2011 Cat CalendarOctober 1st, 2010 New this year is The Painted Cat 2011 Wall Calendar! Now you can get your feline fix all through the year with 12 different cats to add colour and feline fun to each month. The calendar is A4, 8 x 11 inches in size. There are 12 pages, 1 page per month, each featuring one of my cat paintings, as well as a cover and a back. It’s wire bound so it’s easy to hang on the wall and change the pages. The paintings included are Hot Spot, Sugar Plum Fairies, Java, Mother’s Day, In The Pink, The Fishpond, Alice, Sunbathing, Doing The Washing Up, Favourite Toy, Lunchtime and The Carol Singers. You can see all the pages in more detail, just visit me on flickr and have a look at the calendar’s flickr album. Buy a 2011 Wall Calendar in the shop. Both UK and USA versions are available. A New Feline Christmas CardSeptember 16th, 2010 A new card called The Carol Singers. Three cats, a Siamese, a black cat and a tabby are carol singing on a snowy Christmas night. They are singing ‘We Three Kings’ of course, what else? Obviously the Siamese is the lead singer! ;-)
