Stag Sketch
May 1st, 2010
A sketch of a stag. This is an idea for a painting for the Ashdown Forest show in May. I like the way he’s looking behind him. It’s a great pose and I like the idea of a square format too.

Black Panther and White PeacockFebruary 18th, 2010
This is a sketch for a new painting of an Indian black leopard looking up at a white peacock. I wanted to paint this pose, with the leopard looking up and thought a peacock would make a good contrast to the leopard. They both come from India so they should work well in the same painting. Now I need to create a background for them. The Look Out Part OneSeptember 17th, 2009 This is a new work in progress, a new bullmastiff painting called The Look Out. The model is Shelby who lives with Gail in Alaska.
In this second sketch I’ve changed the composition. I’ve made the format wider and moved Shelby away from the middle of the picture. I’ve also raised the level of the mountains on the right hand side.
