Spaniel Eyes

May 26th, 2011

Spaniels have such lovely eyes don’t they? I enjoyed painting this close up of a springer spaniel. Those eyes glow against the dark fur of her face and the bright splash of sunshine across her nose.

This is a 10×8 inch oil painting on textured board.

The Painted Dog Calendar

October 27th, 2010

To go with the 2011 Cat Calendar I now have the 2011 Dog Calendar with twelve of my dog paintings to wag their tails through the year.

The calendar is A4, 8 x 11 inches in size. There are 12 pages, 1 page per month,as well as a cover and a back. It’s wire bound so it’s easy to hang on the wall and change the pages.

Buy The Painted Dog 2011 Wall Calendar in the shop. Both UK and USA versions are available.

High Speed Gardening

August 24th, 2010

I have a new print, High Speed Gardening. This is Mabel, a young Springer Spaniel, running around the garden with half a tree in her mouth! It certainly didn’t slow her down any! She was having a wonderful time on a sunny day.

The original painting was an acrylic painting on canvas board and it’s sold.

Here is my latest painting. A Springer Spaniel running around the garden with half a tree in her mouth. It certainly didn’t slow her down any!

I wanted to get the feel of a hot, sunny day into the painting. I used lots of warm colour, even in the shadows, and some thick paint in places too.
This is a 16×12 acrylic painting on board.
