This is Annabella, a stunning Burmese cat.  Her colouring is so pretty and delicate, she was quite a challenge to paint. She is a tortoiseshell and her creamy coat has blue/lilac tones in it. But against that lush, red background her coat really seems to glow.

The reds were a difficult part of the painting. There are several reds from cold, blue reds like Alizarin Crimson to bright, warm reds like Cadmium Red.
