Three hares frolicking in the bracken in the mountains of Wales. I didn’t set out to paint hares, I had planned to do a landscape but they seemed to come into the painting of their own accord and once they arrived the landscape around them started to change, becoming wilder and more vigorous, seeming to explode with energy.

Hares have a reputation as magical animals beloved of the gods. I can believe that. They moved into this painting and rearranged the scenery to suit themselves. :-) Limited Edition Prints
